2. Light to Night 2025

Yes, it’s that time of the year again. Light to Night 2025 is the first of the many light festivals that will grace our island this year. Head straight to the Civic District to see all the pretty lit-up installations that turn on once the sun sets. You already know it – the best light projections are at National Gallery Singapore, including inside the Rotunda Library.

While you’re there, pass through Padang to see 6 colossal structures resembling tropical palms.

3. Artbox Everyday 2025


24th-26th Jan


The annual anticipated market, Artbox 2025, is back for 2 weekends. Bringing together over 300 artisans and vendors from the region, the event will see a retail zone featuring limited-edition and custom-designed goodies. Of course, there are gourmet treats like Thai desserts, Shibuya honey toasts, and sushi tacos.

Visitors can also look forward to an arcade zone, workshops, live performances, and even an open mic session. Families bringing young ones, just park your kids at the enrichment area where they’ll be kept entertained with activities and storytelling.

4. Singapore Art Week 2025

If there ever was a time to immerse yourself in the art scene in Singapore, it’s this week. Singapore Art Week 2025 is upon us and there are over 130 experiences all over the island. From exhibitions and art fairs to workshops and tours, there’s plenty to do, see, and learn.

Visit SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark for Sonic Sessions, featuring a lineup of live performances after dark and a bustling Makers’ Market over the weekends. Apart from shopping for unique products created by local crafters, there will also be workshops and food stalls.

5. Culture Cartel 2025

You guessed it; 3 days of all things street culture is what you’re going to get at Culture Cartel 2025. The convention will host over 250 brands showcasing art, fashion, music, tattoos, and toys. For the super fans, there are masterclasses and panel discussions to join as well as limited edition drops to look forward to. Collaborators for exclusive merch and experiences include McDonald’s, Casetify, White Rabbit, and Heineken.

6. The Island Collective Debut Party


18th Jan


There’s a new kid on the block and they’re throwing a Debut Party. The Island Collective is one for the partygoers, bringing together artists from around the region to showcase their original music at intimate house parties. 3 secret live performers are going to be flown into Singapore from Asia, and there’ll be an informal auction of art created by local artists. From 10.30pm onwards dance the night away to a DJ spinning tech house beats.

Plus, those who arrive before 7pm will get an exclusive tour of the distillery to learn more about Singapore’s very own gin. Oh yes, the first drink is on the house.

7. Louis Vuitton X Murakami Singapore Pop-Up at Joo Chiat

The neighbourhood of Joo Chiat has a temporary visitor in the form of a Louis Vuitton X Murakami Singapore pop-up. Pop by to see the collab collection in the retail space where you can shop for products like the colourful Monogram Multicolore, the whimsical Superflat Panda, and the Superflat Garden. With every purchase, you’ll also get a vending machine token to win limited edition gifts like stickers and Tamagotchis.

Apart from shopping, enjoy a brand film in the cosy cinema space or head to the cafe to grab a drink in a specially designed cup. Plus, if you’ve got an LV from the original collection that requires repair services, they offer to replace parts and clean it up too.

8. comma Arts Festival

Celebrate emerging artists at comma Arts Festival where audiences will get to witness fresh and unconventional interpretations of the theme “Past x Present = Future”. Many of the programmes are free too, including showcases of music, theatre, and dance, workshops, and exhibitions.

9. Lost Arts Found

As part of comma Arts Festival 2025, Lost Arts Found is an initiative to – as the name suggests – rediscover vanishing trades. In a bid to get the newer generations to appreciate traditional arts like rattan weaving, Chinese opera, and Peranakan beading, there are free workshops one can sign up for and learn more.

10. Resurrack Vintage Market

In case you haven’t heard, Bugis Street Art Lane sees a string of stalls go up every weekend for the Resurrack Vintage Market. Look forward to seeing new vendors and live performers this year. Here you’ll find photo booths, thrifted pieces, old records and cameras, and just overall good vibes.

Behind the Canvas Series 1: Jean-Michel Basquiat celebrates the contemporary artist’s works with interactive installations and immersive rooms. The exhibition covers his personal life, career, artworks, and even gives you a glimpse into his thoughts. You’ll also get the rare chance to see original licensed prints and pick up a chalk or crayon to make your own drawings in the Expression Room.

Challenge your perception of reality at this new exhibition, Alternate Reality, where artists from around the region attempt to question certain beliefs and misconceptions. Topics discussed include historical and cultural aspects of collective memories as well as unsaid boundaries often ingrained in SE Asian cultures.

13. Yee I-Lann: Mansau-Ansau & Pratchaya Phinthong: No Patents on Ideas

If you still haven’t been to SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark, you must. And now you’ve got a reason because the museum has 2 new exhibitions. Yee I-Lann: Mansau-Ansau follows the artist’s 2-decade-long journey of discovery and creation, featuring artworks made from photo collages, silk and batik, as well as bamboo pus and pandanus.

A Bangkok-based artist presents Pratchaya Phinthong: No Patents on Ideas, an exhibition that examines the cultural and economic systems of modern life. Expect to see video installations, a mesmerising ceiling projection, and even a piece made from film strips.

14. Seeing Forest by Robert Zhao Renhui

SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark also sees the return of Seeing Forest by Robert Zhao Renhui after it was recently presented in Venice at Biennale Art 2024. The exhibition revolves around the artist’s observation of secondary forests that have regrown from deforested land. Through his lens, see how SG’s landscape has evolved to its current urban state.

15. Altered States: Experiments in Moving

Our beloved ArtScience Museum has a new limited-time exhibition with only $5 entry. Altered States: Experiments in Moving features local and international filmmakers presenting artworks that reimagine what moving images could be using cameraless techniques. These exhibits will challenge our typical interpretation of films and offer new perspectives of seeing and understanding the moving image.
